Secure, mobile and well-run IT for firms with no IT department
IT for Egyptian law firms, accountancies, consultancies and agencies — secure email, document management, device management and managed support.
- WipeableEvery device, encrypted and enrolled
- AnswerableClient security questionnaires, from documented controls
- NamedEngineer who knows your setup
What we get called about
- Client documents living on individual laptops
- Email on a free or ISP mailbox, and getting spoofed
- No idea what happens if a laptop is lost or stolen
- Client security questionnaires nobody can answer
- One person who "does the IT" alongside their real job
What we put in place
- Business email done properly
- Document management
- Device management
- Answerable security posture
- Support on retainer
What that looks like in practice
Business email done properly
Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace on your domain, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC configured so your mail is trusted and cannot be impersonated.
Document management
Structured shared storage with per-matter or per-client permissions, versioning, and files that survive the laptop they were created on.
Device management
Encrypted, enrolled, remotely wipeable laptops. A lost device becomes an inconvenience instead of a disclosure event.
Answerable security posture
MFA, access reviews, backup verification and a written incident plan — so a client questionnaire takes an hour rather than a fortnight.
Support on retainer
A named engineer instead of the partner who is best with computers. Removes a real single point of failure.
The client questionnaire is now the forcing function
More and more Egyptian professional firms are being sent security questionnaires by their larger clients, sometimes as a condition of the engagement. Do you enforce multi-factor authentication? Are devices encrypted? What is your incident response process? Where is our data held?
These are answerable questions with cheap answers, but only if the controls exist before the questionnaire arrives.
Getting them in place is a few weeks of work. Being asked and having nothing to say costs engagements.
The three things that matter most
For a firm of five to fifty people, in order:
- Multi-factor authentication on email. Compromised email is how nearly every incident at this size begins, and it is free to enable.
- Documents off individual laptops. Not because laptops fail, but because a departing employee, a lost device or a ransomware event should not remove your client work.
- A tested backup. Not a sync. Sync propagates the encryption; backup recovers from it.
Everything else is refinement on top of those three.
Removing the accidental IT manager
Nearly every firm this size has one: a partner or an analyst who is good with computers and has quietly absorbed the estate. It works until they are on leave, on a deadline, or gone.
A retainer replaces that dependency with a named engineer, documented systems, and a response time in writing. It also gives that person their job back.
