Campus networks, labs and student systems that hold up in the first week of term
IT for Egyptian universities, schools and training institutes — campus Wi-Fi, computer labs, student systems, network segmentation and hardware supply.
- Peak-hallWi-Fi capacity verified at full occupancy
- MinutesLab machine rebuild, not hours
- Per-roleNetwork policy for students, staff and guests
What we get called about
- Wi-Fi that collapses when a lecture hall fills
- Lab machines rebuilt by hand every semester
- Student, staff and guest traffic sharing one network
- Exam periods exposing capacity nobody tested for
- Grant-funded equipment with nobody owning its lifecycle
What we put in place
- High-density Wi-Fi
- Segmented campus network
- Lab imaging and management
- Student-facing systems
- Lifecycle planning
What that looks like in practice
High-density Wi-Fi
Designed for a full lecture hall, not an average one. Density, channel planning and per-user rate limits sized for the actual peak.
Segmented campus network
Students, staff, guests, labs, cameras and building systems separated, with policy between them. Onboarding that does not need a helpdesk ticket.
Lab imaging and management
One golden image, deployed over the network, restoring a lab of forty machines between sessions instead of over a weekend.
Student-facing systems
Portals, registration and results built or integrated so students self-serve rather than queueing at an office.
Lifecycle planning
An asset register with warranty and replacement dates, so equipment refresh becomes a budget line rather than a crisis.
Design for the peak, not the average
A lecture hall with three hundred students on their phones is a different engineering problem from an office of thirty. Wi-Fi designed for the average fails in the first week of term, and every conversation about the network after that starts from that memory.
Designing for the peak means more access points at lower power, careful channel planning and a limit on how much any one device can take. It costs more than a floor-area estimate, and it works on the day it matters.
Everyone brings their own device
A campus is the opposite of a managed office. Most of what connects belongs to students, and the rest ranges from lab machines to cameras to research equipment nobody in IT chose.
You cannot secure devices you do not control, so you secure the network around them: separate segments for students, staff, labs and building systems, with rules between them. Done at design time, that is configuration. Done after an incident, it is a project.
Work to the academic calendar
A university has one deadline every year that does not move, and it is the first week of term. Big changes belong in the summer. Nothing risky goes in during exams. And the first week of term is the real test of whatever you built.
Services that apply here
- Networks & InfrastructureLAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, structured cabling and servers: designed, documented and handed over
- Software EngineeringWeb, mobile and desktop systems built around your process, not the other way round
- CybersecurityHardening, segmentation, endpoint control and incident response: sized for companies without a security team
- Managed IT & SupportMonitoring, patching and backups, with one engineer who knows your systems by heart
